JS2230 Itadakimasu – Food in Japan Module 2019
15 Mar 2019The club held demonstrations again for the JS2230 Itadakimasu module this year 6th, 7th and 14th March. Goto sensei and Kodera Sensei from Japan was invited to conduct a tea ceremony for the students of the module. This marks the fourth year of our collaboration with Itadakimasu Module. This year, we asked the students to guess the theme of Spring, with the sweets, flowers and kimono that the senseis chose to wear.
Sensei Visit January 2019
28 Jan 2019Our Senseis came down from 24th to 26th January for the first of three annual visits. Our sensei also took the opportunity to perform hatsugama(初釜) during her visit. Hatsugama is a special ceremony performed in the first month of the year and is usually performed by sensei to his/her students. Our students and alumni members also took this opportunity to receive more instruction from our senseis to further improve themselves.
Japanese Cultural Festival 2019
28 Jan 2019The club participated in the annual Japanese Cultural Festival on 26th January 2019. Numerous members of the public got to experience Japanese Tea Ceremony first hand as well as eat sweets and drink a bowl of tea. Coincidentally, the club also had sensei visit on the same day and our senseis came down to watch our students perform Japanese Tea Ceremony and receive a bowl of tea themselves as well.
